Georgia considers the visit of Burns to be very important
Representatives of the Georgian parliamentary majority consider the current visit of the U.S. Undersecretary of State William Burns to Sakartvelo to be important and key. As reported by the GHN, Vice-Speaker Gigi Tsereteli announced such position at the meeting of Parliament. According to him, the visit of Burns is of great importance to regional security.
Recall, the U.S. Undersecretary of State William Burns arrives in the Georgian capital today. This trip is a part of a tour of the U.S. official for the South Caucasus.
It is expected that during this trip Burns will meet with officials of Sakartvelo, as well as with representatives of the local public. According to preliminary information, the parties will discuss the general situation in the South Caucasus region, the economic development of the region, as well as democratic reforms in Georgia.
On the eve, Burns has already visited other South Caucasian states - Azerbaijan. In Baku, Burns also met with officials of the country and representatives of civil society. They discussed the situation and security in South Caucasus, as well as economic development.
