"Miss Georgia 2011" is Georgian citizen anew
Joyful information for all the fans of winner of a beauty contest "Miss Georgia 2011" Janet Kerdikoshvili was received today. She received Georgian citizenship. As reminiscent of the "Georgia-News", after the contest it turned out that the "beauty queen" of Sakartvelo was a Russian citizen, while in terms of competition, only citizens of Georgia can participate in the contest.
Now everything is settled, Kerdikoshvili was granted Georgian citizenship and she can legally represent her country at the contest "Miss Universe". As in "The Image Center" explained in an interview, under the Georgian laws, few months ago, Kerdikoshvili appealed to President Mikhail Saakashvili to obtain a second citizenship, but she did not manage to get it before the competition. After the scandal, which erupted around the winner, the organizers of "Miss Georgia" held a press conference during which she asked Saakashvili to give her Georgian citizenship.
Kerdikoshvili became Russian citizen in 2010.
She became the winner of the 9th national beauty contest on October 1 this year.
Now Kerdikoshvili can easily represent Georgia at the "Miss Universe", which will be held on November 6 in London.
