Alasania: authorities' actions toward Ivanishvili - is extremism
According to the leader of Georgian "Free Democrats" Irakli Alasania, the actions of the authorities towards Bidzina Ivanishvili is a government extremism. As reported by the GHN, Alasania announced this position after a meeting with the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State William Burns. Alasania said that the current situation indicates the degree of fear of the authorities because of changes that have occurred in Georgian politics, in particular, after the emergence Ivanishvili.
"I am convinced that none of these facts will not be able to intimidate the opposition parties which are real opposition. It is a struggle, and we expect that it will be hard. But I am convinced that the truth is on our side, on the side of society, and we need to do everything in order to create conditions for elections", said Alasania.
He added that he discussed this situation with the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, who expressed his indignation.
"I am convinced that the international community will stand beside the Georgian people, so that the reforms, necessary for the elections, were implemented", concluded Alasania.
