The court refused to consider a lawsuit against the head of Parliament
A lawsuit against the chairman of the Georgian Parliament David Bakradze, initiated by opposition MP Dimitri Lortkipanidze, was not accepted for consideration. As reported by "Georgia-News", such decision was adopted by Tbilisi City Court.
"Consideration on the suit against Dmitry Lortkipanidze David Bakradze on compensation of moral damage was dismissed for lack of subject of the trial", the court stated in the declaration.
"Fairness" and "independence" of the court became apparent once again", Lortkipanidze commented this court's decision. He said that he intends to appeal this decision to a higher court.
Recall, Lortkipanidze filed a suit against Bakradze because of his statements during the plenary session of the Parliament of Georgia on September 27 this year.
That time, commenting Lortkipanidze's statement, Bakradze said that "the extortion of money from prisoners' families is example of bad behavior on the part of the MP". Later in the broadcast of TV "Maestro", the head of the Legal Committee of Parliament Pavle Kublashvili explained that Bakradze spoke about Lortkipanidze.
The oppositionist demanded the sum of one lari from Bakradze as compensation for moral damage.
