The UN General Assembly will decide the fate of Azerbaijan
Today, as part of the 66th session of the UN General Assembly, they will decide the fate of Azerbaijan as a nonpermanent member of the UN Security Council in 2012 - 2013. This was reported by "Georgia News" referring to the Azerbaijani media. As the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry explained in an interview, the UN Security Council non-permanent members should be elected by the five states.
Of the European countries, Hungary and Slovenia also pretend for this status. Of Africa, Asia and the Pacific Rim - Kyrgyzstan, Mauritania, Morocco, Pakistan and Togo.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (ITNs) and the League of Arab States (LAS) have already expressed their support for Azerbaijan.
It is worth recalling that the UN Security Council includes five permanent members - China, Russia, UK, USA and France, and 10 non-permanent members.
Non-permanent members of the Security Council are elected for a term of two years and have no right of veto.
