Political analyst: Senator John McCain is guilty in the outbreak of war in South Ossetia
Well-known Russian political analyst Sergey Markov believes that the U.S. government should conduct an investigation with respect to Senator John McCain.
According to official website of the party "United Russia", Markov sharply criticized McCain for his statement which he made after the death of Muammar Gaddafi. The U.S. senator said that "Syria's President Bashar al-Assad, and perhaps Mr. Putin and the Chineses had a bad sleep last night". In turn, Sergey Markov said that McCain is "a racist who hates everything Russian and seeks to make vile things to Russia on any issue".
"I would be very happy if the U.S. Senate would conduct an investigation and find out how Saakashvili started the war in South Ossetia and if he got orders from the Election Staff of McCain. McCain is guilty of this crime, and he is responsible for the deaths of Russians, Ossetians and Georgians during the conflict", added Markov.
Recall, during a meeting with Mikhail Saakashvili, the U.S. Senator John McCain in March this year, the latter declared that Georgia should have opportunity to "defend itself from the future Russian invasion". "The Georgian people should be able to defend themselves against aggression, and therefore the question of supplying defense weapons to Georgia is my priority, as wel as a priority of several others congressmen", said McCain.
We also note that various media blamed Senator John McCain of lobbying for the interests of Georgia in the U.S., for which, according to journalists, official Tbilisi has already spent about a half million dollars. And the U.S. State Department allegedly "ensures the actual embargo, quietly blocking attempts to purchase weapons to Georgia".
