Russia will settle the Karabakh conflict
At today's meeting with the president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, Russian leader Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia will continue to facilitate the negotiation process to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh.
"An important topic of our discussions - this is the strengthening of stability in Caucasus ... I am personally convinced that we can achive just solution of the conflict can only through political means", Trend quoted Medvedev's words, he said in an interview to RIA Novosti.
"Russia intends to further contribute to the negotiation process as co-chair of the Minsk group (OSCE) and through direct contacts between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan", added Russian president.
It is worth mentioning that the conflict between the two South Caucasus countries - Armenia and Azerbaijan - over Nagorno-Karabakh began in 1988.
Talks between Medvedev and Sargsyan took place today in the Kremlin.
