Georgia builds up foreign trade turnover with CIS countries and the EU
In Sakartvelo, data on foreign trade turnover with CIS countries and the European Union was announced. As reported by the GHN referring to the Georgian statistical office Gruzstat, for the nine months of 2011 foreign trade turnover of Georgia with the CIS countries amounted up to $ 2148 million. This is a 42 percent increase over the same period last year. In particular, the exports amounted up to $ 474 million - this is a 68 percent more than last year. Imports - $ 1400 million, an increase of 31 percent.
Foreign trade turnover of Georgia with the European Union countries amounted to $ 1686 million. This is a 38 percent over the same period last year. From these figures, exports amounted $ 262 million (an increase of 28 percent) and imports - $ 1424 million (an increase of 39 percent).
External trade turnover of Georgia on the data for January - September of this year amounted to $ 6481 million. This is a 39 percent higher than in 2010.
