The Armenian government is meeting under police guard
Today in Armenian capital tightens security. As reported by Trend referring to the Armenian media, at the moment the building of the Government of Armenia, located in the central Republic Square in Yerevan, cordoned off by police. Police cordon also blocked all approaches to the building and do not let others in. Road transport moves freely through the streets.
According to deputy head of Yerevan Police Robert Melkonyan, all these measures were taken to ensure normal operation of the government, which holds weekly meetings on Thursdays.
He added that this day near the government building, the citizens are going to weekly hold a protest to draw attention of parliamentary officials to the problems in the army, housing issues, as well as environmental issues. "From now, every Thursday, we will take similar measures to allow unimpeded entry to the building of the Government members and participants of the meeting", said Melkonian.
