In 2012, the Georgian authorities allocate 360 000 GEL for public health
According to the draft state budget of Georgia, in 2012, 360 000 GEL are provided for a program to protect public health. According to "Business-Georgia", such decision was made by the Georgian government. The government stressed the importance of a program to improve the quality of care in the country, as well as the care of the citizens' social guarantees.
As explained in the government, the program, prepared by the authorities to protect public health, includes the provision of health insurance to targeted groups, funding for treatment of various diseases, including mental and infectious.
Totaly, Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Security has got about 1 million 722 thousand GEL for these needs.
In addition, the government plan includes several measures for further development the insurance and construction, rehabilitation and equipping of health facilities.
Recall, the Parliament submitted the draft state budget of Georgia in early October this year. After that, it was sent back for revision in the government.
As expected, the updated version will return to the supreme legislative body of Georgia next week.
