Russian GRU warns Sakartvelo
Cheif Intelligence Agency of Russia (GRU) issued a warning that in case that Georgia starts "new military provocations against Russia and its allies", the Agency will carry out a "prompt response". As reported by "Georgia-News" with reference to RIA Novosti, such a statement was made by Chief of the Russian GRU Colonel-General Alexander Shlyakhturov. He also denied previous allegations of the Georgian authorities in address of Russian secret services of organizing provocations against South Caucasian countries. It is "absolutely untrue", said Shlyakhturov.
"But in Tbilisi they should know: if they prepare new military provocations against Russia and its allies in the region, the GRU will inform their military-political leadership about them. The response will follow immediately", he stressed.
Shlyakhturov added that usage advantage of the intelligence, secret services are controling the situation in those areas, where Russia could be attacked or a military action organized.
Recall, last high-profile espionage scandal erupted in Sakartvelo last summer. It concerned four Georgian photographers accused of spying for Russia. Among them, incidentally, there was the personal photographer of current Georgian president.
Georgian Interior Ministry thought that photographers passed GRU materials containing classified information for payment. Tbilisi court sentenced "photographers-spies" to probation.
