It was just reported, that a cargo belonging to the charity company "Atu" was detained in Georgian port of Batumi. It, in turn, is a member of "Kartu Group", belonging to Georgian businessman and politician Bidzina Ivanishvili.
As reported by the GHN citing the press service of the businessman, the cargo, belonging to the charity construction company "Atu", was detained on October 29. In particular, the two transformers and two high-voltage distributors were detained.
"The detained cargo is intended for the medical center in Sachkhere, the construction of which will be completed in a few months by company "Atu". Also the detained cargo included ventilation equipment that is designed for rugby stadiums in Rustavi, Didi Dighomi and Martkopi. The cargo should have been get customs clearance in Tbilisi. At this time, the related has not unveiled the reasons why this cargo was detained in port of Batumi", said in a statement.
Recall, about a month ago, Georgian businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili made several important statements. He expressed his willingness to abandon the Russian and French citizenship for participation in the political life of Georgia. Ivanishvili also said that he would sell about a third of his business, located in Russia, untill the parliamentary elections in Georgia, scheduled for 2012.
