Georgia became a member of the International Police Association
Georgian Department opened in the International Police Association (IPA). As reported by "Georgia-News" referring to the press service of Interior Ministry, Lithuania petitioned for the establishment of such Department. This happened after Georgian police department won the football tournament, organized by Lithuanian Department. The winners received certificate of the Association from the hands of the General Secretary of the Department of Lithuania Gintaras Baguzitisa.
"For this success and effective contribution to the event, management of Lithuanian Department issued a petition to the principal office of the Association, to make participants of this year's tournament, as well as heads of ministries, which facilitate the participation of delegations at the event, become members of the Lithuanian Department (as required by the main charter) and received the right to establish Georgian Department", said the press service of Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
They also reminded that the International Police Association is an independent body composed of national Deparments, established in various countries. Members of the organization are acting police officers, as well as retirees.
The Association was established on January 1, 1950 in the UK. Its goal - is improving education of its members, exchanges, and social support.
