Sargsyan visit Sakartvelo
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Grigol Vashadze, the visit of President Serzh Sargsyan will be held in Georgia in the near future. According to Trend, Vashadze announced such information in Yerevan after meeting with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. Vashadze said that the agreement was reached during the meeting. However, he did not elaborate the exact dates of Sargsyan's visit.
Recall, the President of Armenia was to visit Georgia in early November. But the trip was postponed.
According to one unofficial version, the reason for cancellation of the visit was saying by Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili about the slowness of the Armenian side in the liquidation of consequences of a landslide at the Georgian-Armenian border. As a result of the tragedy, two citizens of Georgia were among the five killed people. However, the Georgian side has categorically denied such speculation.
At a recent briefing, Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze has once again denied information, appeared in a number of media, about the deteriorating of relations between presidents of Georgia and Armenia, and a breakdown of Sargsyan's visit to Sakartvelo.
"Information, that a certain side got offended by other side's statements, is not true", said Kalandadze in response to this. "Georgia and Armenia are on good terms, as well as the presidents of the two countries", she added.
According to her, Serzh Sargsyan's visit to Tbilisi was not canceled but rescheduled. The date of this visit is being specified.
