Darchiashvili divided Georgians on political grounds
The representative of the majority in the Georgian Parliament David Darchiashvili said that many ethnic Georgians are not representative of this nation "politically".
As reported by "PirWeli", Darchiashvili made such statement during the discussion of the bill, which would facilitate the assignment of citizenship to ethnic Georgians.
"There are many Georgians who can be called ethnic Georgians, but politically, I personally, can not call them the Georgians. I do not want to have anything in common, even common passport, with such persons like Mr. Ebralidze (well-known Georgian businessman - Ed.)", said Darchiashvili.
"The second name has not such crucial sense, as many political principles, views, attitudes towards the state and sovereignty. After all, I consider being the Georgian as political, cultural phenomenon, not only ethnic", he added.
The MP also said that the assignment of citizenship "will always be problematic" and should be considered only in terms of personal interests of applicants for passport of Caucasian republic.
