Saakashvili wants to make Georgia the best candidate to the EU
According to Georgian leader Mikhail Saakashvili, Georgia should become the best candidate for membership in the European Union. As reported by the GHN, Georgian president said this in an interview to the Polish EurActiv.
"The most important thing is that we are on our way to the EU. We want Georgia to become the best candidate for membership in the UE through the reforms. We do not have such status, but we may get it in the future. This is a significant advancement for us", said Saakashvili in an interview.
He further highlighted the successes of the Georgian economy despite the "occupation" by Russia. "This year, we expect economic growth up to 7 percent. It is possible, since according to the World Bank, Georgia has created the best conditions for business in the Southern and Eastern Europe", Saakashvili said.
