According to "Georgia-News", Akhalaia said this, speaking today at Vaziani, at a solemn ceremony for the Georgian peacekeepers, arrived from Afghanistan. NATO secretary general Anders Fogh Rasmussen has also attended the meeting.
"Georgian military have made significant contributions to the mission in Afghanistan and have conscientiously fulfilled their obligations. Since 2012, Georgia will send one additional battalion to participate in peacekeeping operations. He expressed the hope that Rasmussen's visit to Georgia will contribute to rapprochement with NATO. "I hope that this visit will be a step forward in deepening relations between Georgia and NATO", said Akhalaia.
