Tsagareishvili: the increase of number of Members of Parliament is unconstitutional step
Opposition MP of the faction "Unity for Justice" Giorgi Tsagareishvili has expressed his negative attitude towards the bill on the increase the number of deputies of the Georgian Parliament to 190 people, initiated today in the Georgia. Moreover, as reported by the GHN, he accused 83 members of the majority of anti-constitutional actions. According to Tsagareishvili, the bill, introduced today in the Parliament, is a blatant violation of the law.
"Several months ago, Mikhail Saakashvili said that the opposition demanded the increase of the number of deputies, though was against it now and then. Then the Christian Democrats have not appealed against it. And now we see that they are among the initiators of these illegal actions. People should make a political sentence to those political parties and leaders who violate their will, expressed at the referendum", said the opposition deputy.
Earlier today it was reported that at today's meeting of the Parliamentary Bureau, there was introduced an initiative on the changes in the fundamental law of the country - the Constitution. The initiative was introduced by 83 Georgian MPs. Under the proposed bill, new Georgian parliament will include 190 members. 107 of them will be elected by a proportional system, and 83 - on the majority system.
