Independent TV does not trust the National Communications Commission
National Communications Commission of Georgia has got expression of distrust. As reported by "Georgia-News", a regional tele-radio company Trialeti has accused the Commission of putting pressure on the independent TV companies in Georgia.
"We express our distrust of the National Communications Commission of Georgia. They are performing a political order and their activity often goes beyond the law ... The main activity of the Commission is illegal influence on television, their regulation and restriction of quality of their freedom", said in a statement of "Trialeti". It argues that the Commission communicates with Georgian television companies selectively.
"It (the Commission) does not notice the violation and, conversely, protects and helps the government-controlled television stations. Meanwhile, TV companies, disliked by authorities, are under pressure on a daily basis", according to a statement of "Trialeti".
"They have illegally seized second television frequencies of "Trialeti" ... The Commission does not allow us to extend broadcasting in Tbilisi and other regions. It does not modify our license and does not change our frequency, as it was the case with regard to "Rustavi-2" in Gori. The Commission explicitly states: "you are entitled to, but we won't change the frequency", the document continues.
It is worth mentioning that currently the range of broadcasting of TV "Trialeti" covers Gori, Karelian, Khashuri, Kaspi district, as well as South Ossetia. The total number of television viewers - is about 450 thousand people.
