Kalandadze: the European Union is interested in Georgia
According to deputy head of Georgian Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze, the visit of the EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Catherine Ashton to Georgia indicates a special interest of the EU to this South Caucasus country. As reported by "Georgia-News", Kalandadze has announced this position at a briefing to reporters.
"The visit of such a high level indicates that the EU has a particular interest in Georgia", said Kalandadze.
She recalled that Ashton will visit Georgia as part of her Caucasus tour on November 16. During this visit, Ashton will meet with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and the head of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Grigol Vashadze.
As part of the South Caucasian tour, November 15 Ashton arrives to the capital of Azerbaijan - Baku; November 16, she will hold a meeting in Tbilisi; November 17 - in Armenia.
