A new gas pipeline may be laid on the territory of Sakartvelo

This was reported by "Business-Georgia" referring to the Armenian media.
According to Aliyev, the construction of a pipeline, or increase of the capacity of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum pipeline is provided within project "Shahdeniz-2". According to him, the volume of gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Turkey should significantly increase.
"Construction of new pipeline may involve several companies of the consortium "Shahdeniz". The project depends on the document of the feasibility study. The annual capacity of a new pipeline should be at least 16 billion cubic meters", said Aliyev. It is expected that the new pipeline will connect Azerbaijan, Georgia, south of Turkey, Bulgaria and Greece.
The idea of this project was already commented by the President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev. According to him, new pipeline will not interfere in the implementation of other project - "Nabucco". As explained by Abdullaev, new pipeline would transport not only Azeri gas, but gas produced in Caspian Sea.
