Ilia II will arrive to Moscow
November 18 this year, the head of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II plans to visit Russian capital. This was reported by "Georgia-News", citing the message of the Georgian Patriarchate. They explained that it is expected that Georgian Patriarch will participate in the celebrations to mark the 65th anniversary of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.
A joint service of the heads of Georgian and Russian Orthodox Churches is scheduled for November 20. It will be held at Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
Ilia II also intends to serve in Georgian church of St. George in Russian capital, as well as to communicate with representatives of Georgian Diaspora in Moscow.
Recall, the previous meeting between the heads of Russian and Georgian churches took place last summer. Though, it was hold not in Russia, but during trip of Ilya II to Ukraine.
