Members of European Parliament will consider a resolution on Georgia
The European parliamentarians are going to consider the resolution on Georgia on Thursday, November 17. According to Trend, this document officially registered the term "occupation of territory". This was announced by Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili in an interview with reporters at a joint press conference with the Chief Commissioner for foreign policy and security Catherine Ashton. The press conference was held today in Tbilisi.
"The prepared resolution is historic, as in the lexicon of the EU there appeared the term "occupation". This is a very important resolution, and for us it is important, whether it would be supported by the European Parliamentaries", Saakashvili said.
Recall, the visit of Ashton to Sakartvelo started today. It is a part of the South Caucasus tour of European official.
As Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze noted on the eve of the visit, Ashton intends to hold meetings with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze.
