This morning the Georgian leader Mikhail Saakashvili inspected the progress of construction works which are being carried out in the Georgian capital at the Agmashenebeli prospect. As reported by the GHN, together with Vice-Mayor, Saakashvili walked the entire prospectus on foot, where the work on the reconstruction of the street is being conducted around the clock. The project of such scale is carried out for the first time in Tbilisi.
"Restaurants and cafes will be opened here. Chardin development was started in 2004, after the Rose Revolution, and before that there was nothing except one little cafe. All the streets - the Cotton row and others were made later, and it was the first stage of development. Next will be the second row, and finally, through the Vorontsov square, will meet with Rica, and we'll be able to get to Chardin, and then to get to the Freedom Square. There's no such entertainment center and a place for tourists and leisure in any capital of Europe", Saakashvili said during inspection trips.
He recalled that the opening ceremony of the updated Agmashenebeli prospect is scheduled for November 23.
