According to the Georgian Finance Minister Dmitry Gvindadze, they decided to increase the budget of the Georgian Defense Ministry. According to him, the budget increase by 44.6 million GEL is due to the need to ensure the security of the country. As reported by the GHN, the finance minister said this at today's plenary session of Parliament.

According to the trend of recent years, the financing ministry is constantly growing, and in 2008 the amount of allocations for the Office was 23 percent of total expenditures and 8.1 percent of the GDP, explained Gvindadze. However, in 2009, the funding was reduced, and this year it was 9.3 percent, the minister added.

Ultimately, the budget of the Ministry of Finance for 2011 will amount 704,631,2 GEL, said the official. "This is the requisite level of allocations for the Defense Ministry, which is required to ensure the safety of the country", said the head of the Georgian Ministry of Finance.
