Kosachev: Russia will not interfere in the elections in South Ossetia
The head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Konstantin Kosachev said that Moscow would not interfere in the presidential election in South Ossetia.
"The "United Russia" does not hide its preference and supports those candidates who were put forward by our party partners, respectively, in South Ossetia and Transnistria. It is well-known names, but as the state, the Russian Federation does not interfere to the appropriate election, because these elections can be held, organized, and implemented only by citizens and residents of the respective countries", this, according to IA REGNUM, Kosachev said at a press conference in Moscow.
We note, Konstantin Kosachev was a member of the Russian delegation which attended the pre-election concert in support of a candidate for president of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov, which later met President Dmitry Medvedev.
Recall, the presidential elections in South Ossetian were held on November 13. In The head of local Emergency Ministry Anatoly Bibilov and former Education Minister of the Republic Alla Dzhioeva passed into the second round with an almost identical performance. The second round of elections will be held on November 27.
