The "orange rtveli" starts in Adjara

In Adjara, the season of so-called "orange rtveli" - time to collect citrus - kicks off today. As reported by the GHN referring to the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia, in this year about 2717 tons of tangerines were sent for the export. Of these, 147 tonnes were exported to Ukraine.
The experts from the Ministry of Agriculture plans to collect about 85 tons of tangerines by the end of this year, of which 50 thousand tons - in Kobuleti, 35 thousand tons - in Khelvachauri.
As expected, totally the exports would amount to 70 thousand tons of Georgian citrus fruit. As in the past year, the main export partner of Sakartvelo will be Ukraine. In addition, the citrus will travel to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Central Asia and Eastern Europe.
