China invests $ 150 million in Georgia
Chinese businessmen announced their intention to carry out investments in the Georgian economy. According to Trend, in this case we are talking about the amount of $ 150 million. They will be spent on a project to create Xualing international special economic zone in Georgia. As explained in the Georgian government, a memorandum on the establishment of this zone was signed recently by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Vera Kobalia and a group of Chinese entrepreneurs.
The document assumes that "Xualing of Commerce and Industry Group of Sindzian" is committed to build an international Xualing special economic zone till the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2015.
Thus, the project includes construction of hotels with a total area 65,000 square meters, a market, an enterprise and storage facilities. In addition, within the project there will be built residential area and recreation area.
During the signing ceremony, the head of the Georgian Parliament David Bakradze noted that the document must lay the foundation for creation of a special economic zone in Tbilisi.
"It is a very large complex, which would include both commercial areas and entertainment centers. A lot of people will work there. With regard to infrastructure, the city will receive a new district and a new hotel which will be used during the Olympic Festival 2015", said Bakradze.
