Warning shots rang out in Tskhinval
Today, warning shots rang out in the center of Tskhinval, at the main square of the city. According to "Georgia News" quoting a message by RIA Novosti, supporters of Alla Dzhioeva gathered at the square. They're expressing their dissatisfaction with the decision of the Supreme Court of South Ossetia, according to which, the results of election of the head of state on November 27 were declared invalid. Protesters attempted to break into the building of the local government. In response, the security of the building fired warning shots.
"Currently, in front of the complex of buildings, there are from 700 to 1000 supporters of Dzhioeva. There happened an attempt to break into the building, where the Central Election Commission is located. The staff of State Guard opened warning fire into the air", RIA Novosti quoted a source in the presidential administration of South Ossetia. Nobody was injured, the source said.
Currently Dzhioeva's supporters remain at the square.
Prior to that, curent head of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity said that the authorities "would not made concessions on the presidential elections and would not succumb to pressure". "I urge to change their mind and make serious conclusions from what is happening", Kokoity said.
