Georgian and Azerbaijani historians are studying the border monuments
According to the head of the public policy department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ali Hasanov, currently the experts of the relevant departments of Azerbaijan and Georgia are trying to clarify the identity of the samples of ancient Albanian culture, located at the border of Azerbaijan and Georgia. As reported by the GHN referring to the Azerbaijani media, Hasanov noted that the monastery "David Gareji" located at the border of two states is such a controversial issue. Its belonging is being clarified by the experts from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.
Hasanov said that Azerbaijani scientists are trying to clarify the membership of a number of historical monuments of Caucasian Albania.
"In Soviet times, because of the weakness of knowing of history of Albania and poor protection of Albanian monuments by the Azerbaijani government, some people attempted to usurp some of these monuments. In a sense, they managed to achieve this in some places", said Hasanov in an interview.
