The winner of the competition for a memorial to commemorate the victims of "genocide" of the Circassian people from the Russian Empire is a citizen of Russia.

The document stated the "planned nature" of the Russian massacres and forced resettlement of the Circassians in the XIX century.
Representatives of the State Minister for Diaspora Affairs Papuna Davitaia also reported that not only the winner will receive a prize, but aslo two project - on 2nd and 3rd places. The authors of most impressive projects will receive $ 10, 3 or 1 thousand, respectively, as a reward.
Earlier, representatives of the Georgian Ministry of Diaspora Affairs reported that the competition will be international.
The decision to erect a building has already been taken by the Parliament of the Republic. Also a special Circassian center will be established in Georgia.
As reported by the head of the parliamentary committee on diaspora and the Caucasus Nugzar Tsiklauri, a memorial to the victims of the genocide of Circassians from the Russian Empire may be installed in the resort of Anaklia, at the border with Abkhazia.
"After consultation, we will be able to tell where the memorial and cultural center will be established", said the MP.
