More than ten thousand Russian citizens living in South Ossetia took part in the elections to State Duma, the agency RES reported.
Russian military, stationed in South Ossetia, were able to vote at the place of dislocation.
In Tskhinval, a polling station was opened in the consular department of the Russian Embassy in the country and in the indoor high school number 9. There were also open polling stations in the regions - in the villages Dzau, Znaur, Leningori.
As the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to South Ossetia Elbrus Kargiev told, the voting proceeded without violations, international election observers were not present.
"Citizens of the Russian Federation living in South Ossetia have shown their willingness to participate actively in the political life of Russia", Kargiev said.
The ex-presidential candidates in South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov and Alla Dzhioeva took part in the voting for the election of deputies of State Duma.
