Georgia continues participation in projects in Afghanistan
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Grigol Vashadze, his country plans to participate in all civil engineering projects, the international community carries out in Afghanistan. According to Trend, Vashadze said this in Bonn (Germany), during the conference on Afghanistan, held there.
"We are still actively involved in both military and civilian projects in Afghanistan and we intend to continue our active participation in NATO operations", said Vashadze. According to him, Georgia will "make every effort to make democratization of Afghanistan irreversible".
Georgian official also said that during his meeting with Afghan counterpart, he has expressed special gratitude to Sakartvelo for its contribution to stabilizing the situation in Afghanistan. "Georgia is one of the largest contributors to operations in Afghanistan. Therefore, it is very important that we were included in the decision making process, as well as a discussion of future plans", said the Minister.
It is worth recalling that the Bonn conference on Afghanistan is to assist in the participation of the international community to stabilize the political and economic situation in Afghanistan. The participants of the conference were Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the countries participating in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.
