Tsagareishvili threatened the head of the National Bank with a jail
Today, the Georgian opposition MP, member of the parliamentary faction "Unity for Justice" Giorgi Tsagareishvili made a statement in which he promised to put the head of the National Bank of Georgia into prison immediately after the change of power in the country.
As the GHN reported, at a briefing to journalists, Tsagareishvili announced his view of the situation, which occured around the Cartu Bank Card, owned by well-known Georgian politicians and businessmen Bidzina Ivanishvili.
According to Tsagareishvili, the head of the Georgian National Bank Giorgi Kadagidze is purposefully bringing Cartu Bank to the bankruptcy. And this, according to opposition parliamentarian, happens through the fraudulent scheme.
"Last week, the Georgian authorities carried out an unprecedented punitive operation, when seized the property of four business groups, anounting $ 100 million lari, within 3-4 days, and thus actually left have credit commitments of Cartu Bank Card in volume of 70 million GEL unsecured", said the deputy. "It is in fact 20% of the total loan portfolio of the Bank".
According to Tsagareishvili, some other senior officials of the country stand behind Kadagidze in this story with the bank.
"In the future, Georgia's prosecutor general should examine it", said the opposition deputy.
