Bulgaria helps Georgia on its way to EU
Bulgarian authorities expressed readiness to render Sakartvelo assistance in the matter of signing free trade agreements with the EU. According to "Georgia News", today the Press and Information Department of the Georgian Foreign Ministry spread this information on the basis of the 4th meeting of intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation between the two countries. It was held yesterday in Sofia.
Also, on the eve, the EU representatives agreed to start talks with Georgia and Moldova on the Agreement on Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement. The first round of these talks is scheduled on the beginning of 2012.
"Bulgaria expressed its readiness to assist Georgia in the design of an agreement on deep and comprehensive free trade area with the EU", stated in the Georgian Foreign Ministry.
"During the meeting, we considered such issues as deepening bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Bulgaria; particular attention was paid to attraction investment and developing cooperation in trade, energy, tourism, agriculture, transport and communications", the document says.
