Dzhioeva creates a movement in support of Putin
Today, the former presidential candidate of South Ossetia Alla Dzhioeva announced that she intends to create a "popular front" in support of the candidacy of Vladimir Putin as Russia's president in the upcoming elections in Russia in 2012.
"This movement will include all the 16 000 citizens of South Ossetia, who voted for my candidacy at the presidential elections in South Ossetia on November 27. This is the best proof of our pro-Russian orientation and the fact that we are thankful to Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev for the support, which they provided and provide", Interfax quoted Dzhioeva's words. This interview, in turn, was cited by the GHN.
Recall, the situation in South Ossetia escalated after the second round of elections for the new president of South Ossetia on November 27. According to preliminary data, published by the CEC of South Ossetia, Dzhioeva won it. However, her rival - the head of the local MOE Anatoly Bibilov, accused the opposition leader of the violations. Having examined the relevant complaint by Bibilov, the Supreme Court of South Ossetia has decided to annul the election results. New elections of the head of South Ossetia were scheduled for March 25, 2012. However, Dzhioeva has not still agreed with this course of events and intends to defend her right "to be president", basing on the outcome of the last voting.
