Sakartvelo is preparing for Geneva talks
According to information released today by the Department of Press and Information of the Georgian Foreign Ministry, on the eve, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergi Kapanadze met with the co-chairmen at Geneva discussions. The sides discussed the upcoming round of negotiations. As recalled by "Georgia News", this round is scheduled for December 14.
The meeting was held in Vilnius, as a part of the OSCE Summit. In particular, Kapanadze talked with the co-chairmen Philippe Lefort (the EU), Giedrius Cekuolis (the OSCE) and the Anti Turunen (the UN).
"During the meeting the sides discussed topical issues related to the process of the Geneva talks, as well as the situation in "occupied" territories of Georgia", said in the Georgian Foreign Ministry.
They added that the main issue of the upcoming 11th round of Geneva talks is the security mechanism in the region. The Foreign Ministry also reminded that the Geneva talks are held since October 2008.
