Today Georgia recalls the former Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania. As the GHN reported, this year he would have been 48 years old.

The political career of Zurab Zhvania started in 1989, after he created "green" movement and then the Party of "Greens" in Georgia.

In 1993 he became general secretary of the coalition party, the Citizens' Union of Georgia. In 1995, after winning the election, Zhvania became chairman of Georgian Parliament. He held this position until November 1, 2001. He resigned because of a number of disagreements with Eduard Shevardnadze.

After Georgia was headed by Mikhail Saakashvili, Zhvania was appointed Minister of State and in 2004 - Prime Minister of Georgia.

But on the night of February 3, 2005 Zhvania was found dead in one of apartments in Tbilisi. In the same apartment there was found the body of the then deputy governor of Kvemo Kartli region Raul Yusupov.

According to the official version of the investigation, the cause of death of Zhvania was an accident - carbon monoxide poisoning. However, the family members of former prime minister still do not believe the official version of the tragedy.
