Georgian construction sector is gaining momentum
According to the data for the third quarter of 2011, total turnover of the construction industry of Georgia amounted 500 million GEL. This is 60 percent more than in the second quarter of this year, when the turnover amounted to 312.4 million GEL. This was reported by "Georgia News" with reference to the Georgian statistical office "Sakstat" (Gruzstat).
Thus, according to statistics, during the reporting period total volume of production in the construction industry in monetary terms amounted to 502 million GEL, which is 58 percent more than the quarter before - 317.8 million GEL.
The number of people employed in construction, according to the third quarter of 2011, amounted to 34 105 people. According to statistics, the average salary in the sector amounted to 918.1 lari.
In the second quarter of 2010, the number of people employed in the construction industry amounted 27 366 people, while the average wage then was equal to 820.1 lari.
