Shevardnadze: Russia will avoid revolution
Former Georgian leader Eduard Shevardnadze believes that the revolution in Russia is impossible for an example of those that occurred in the Middle East.
"The danger of "Arab spring" does not threaten Russia", as reported by VZGLIAD, Shevardnadze said this in an interview to "Asaval-Dasavali", commenting the rallies held in several Russian cities.
Shevardnadze also expressed confidence that the current Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will win the next presidential election in Russia. "Putin has big plans. He has put forward the idea of the Eurasian community, which he really can create", the former head of the Georgian state said.
Previously, Eduard Shevardnadze also said that for Georgia it is advantageous if Vladimir Putin will once again become the Russian president.
"Remember, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev refused to negotiate with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili. Given the fact that Putin has received Georgian opposition leaders I do not exclude the possibility that he will hold talks with Saakashvili", the former head of Georgia said.
He also believes that Putin is completely loyal to the Georgians.
