Saakashvili gave praise to the Polish Prime Minister
Georgian leader Mikhail Saakashvili attended the official dinner in Strasbourg. According to Trend, the dinner was given on behalf of the Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the completion of Poland's Presidency of the European Parliament. Among those present at the event there was president of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek.
As the administration of the Georgian president explained in an interview, at the dinner Saakashvili has delivered a speech. "A few years ago I could not imagine that Georgia will become a member of the European Union one day. Donald Tusk made it possible. He began to speak boldly about it, and then it was continued by the president of France. This issue became the main music in many European capitals, and I believe that the composer of this music was Donald Tusk. It was after him that this music began to sound throughout Europe", Saakashvili said.
According to him, Georgia and Poland have passed a long way before they were "allowed into the door of the European Union". "Now, Poland is the Chairman of the European Parliament. And Georgia gets a chance to become the EU member, and it must do this", the Georgian leader concluded in his speech.
