Kalandadze called Azerbaijan the number one partner
Azerbaijan is a trading partner number one for Georgia, the deputy head of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nino Kalandadze said referring to the 7th meeting of the Intergovernmental Economic Commission of Georgia and Azerbaijan, scheduled for December 20, Day.Az reported.
"At a meeting of the intergovernmental commission we'll consider a number of issues of economic cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan. In particular, the issues of energy, agriculture, transport, environment, information technology and others", Kalandadze said, adding that a working meeting at the expert level will be held on Monday in connection to this.
"Georgia and Azerbaijan have the positive economic turnover and we want to see economic relations between countries to become more intense in the future", she added.
Meanwhile, earlier it became known that Azerbaijan toughens penalties for violation of rules of exceptional freight haulage carriage. As the GHN reported, the country has prepared a bill "On Amendments to the Code of Administrative Violations". This was announced in an interview by the head of the Committee on Legal Policy and State Building of Azerbaijani Milli Mejlis (Parliament) Ali Huseynli.
He explained that the bill cancels the Article 163.0.13 pf the Code of Administrative Violations and replaced by the Article 163-1. According to the innovation, now, if a large-capacity vehicles violates rules of cargo carriage, the officials will pay a fine ranging from 1,200 to 1,500 manat, the legal entities - from 4,000 to 5,000 thousand manat.
If after the fine is paid the illegal actions will be repeated throughout the year, the violator will be disqualified from driving for six months and up to one year.
