New sanctions against Syria may be imposed
The U.S. authorities have warned the Syrian leadership that the international community would impose new sanctions against the leadership of this country. According to Interfax, it would happen in case if it does not comply the plan League of Arab States (LAS). Such information has been circulated by the White House. "The international community will take further steps to put pressure on the regime of Bashar al-Assad, in order to stop the repression", said in a communique of the American authorities.
The U.S. authorities have also expressed concern that Syrian military continues to kill civilians, as well as the deserters.
"The U.S. is deeply concerned about reports that government forces continue to indiscriminately kill civilians and defectors, destroy the houses and shops, as well as detain protesters without litigation. Again and again, Bashar al-Assad's regime demonstrates that he is not worthy to control Syria", said in a the statement.
It should be pointed out that the LAS plan, adopted by Syria on November 2 this year, directs to stop using force against demonstrators, to withdraw its troops from the cities, to release the detainees and to allow 500 observers into the country.
Agency "RBC" referring to the BBC adds that prior to that the Syrian opposition has called for the immediate conduct of an emergency meeting of the Security Council of the UN and the League of Arab States (LAS) to discuss the escalation of violence in the north-west.
