"Maestro" will show a satirical cartoon about Saakashvili
The date of appearance of the first episode of the satirical cartoon series "Banana Republic wothout Bbananas" on the channel "Maestro", which will be ironical to the Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and other members of the government, was announced. This will happen in 10 p.m. on December 31, and starting from January 15 it will be shown weekly.
Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili, Economics Minister Veronika Kobalia, Justice Minister Zurab Adeishvili, Security Service Secretary George Bokeria, opposition billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili (he has agreed to fund the project) and others have also become heroes of the cartoon. The head of this project is well-known television journalist Shalva Ramishvili.
As Shalva Ramishvili stated on Wednesday, "Saakashvili takes away the script writers' jobs". "In fact, we do not need to invent anything. It is only necessary to transfer his deeds in reality into cartoons", Ramishvili told newspaper "Kweli siahle" (All the News).
In the late 1990s - early 2000s, Ramishvili shot a similar cartoon about then-President Eduard Shevardnadze and fairly undermined his rating. Cartoon "Dardubala" was very popular, Eduard Shevardnadze later admitted that he was upset, but did not prohibited it because the democracy required it, the newspaper VZGLIAD reported.
