Financial monitoring of political parties organized in Georgia
The new service of the Control Chamber of Georgia, created to monitor the funding of political parties, begins its work, the "Caucasian Knot" reported.
"For presentation of the information the political parties will need to fill out special forms. We have developed three types of forms - for an annual financial report, about donations received and about financing activities during the election campaign. The parties are obliged to report their money and non-money donations", said the head of the new service Natia Mogeladze.
The new service will also verify the transaction carried out by "politically active persons involved in the parties", said the head of the Control Chamber Levan Bezhashvili.
"Prior to February 1, the parties must submit an annual financial report with the auditor's report, also, within three days, to submit data on donations; during the election campaign, the party must provide information on all transactions and financial activities every three weeks", said Bezhashvili.
