Saakashvili demanded transparency during the elections
Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili demanded providing the maximum transparency during the parliamentary elections in the country, which will be held in autumn 2012, the Day.Az reported.
"We need to establish a presence of an increasing number of international observers during the elections. At the same time we need both short-term mission at the elections and long-term, which can track and monitor the campaign", Saakashvili said during his meeting with Chairman of the Central Election Commission Zurab Kharatishvili at the Presidential Palace.
"We have at least 9 months till the elections. Since they probably will be held in October, this time is enough to hold the elections as clean as we had held the local elections. We have time, but it should be used with advantage", added the head of Georgia .
He stressed that the he was interested in the preparations for the elections not as the leader of the National Movement, but as the president.
