Adjara and Azerbaijan have outlined a plan of cooperation
The head of Government of Adjara Levan Varshalomidze and the Consul General of Azerbaijan Huseyin Najafov discussed a plan of cooperation in Batumi, Day.Az reported.
At the meeting Varshalomidze met the new regional director of SOCAR Farid Mamedov. The latter said that the company intends this year to expand its activities in Adjara.
In turn, Varshalomidze stressed that the leadership of the Autonomous Republic welcomes foreign investment in Adjara, because they allow to develop the region.
Note that at the end of January Nakhchivan's delegation will arrive in Adjara, reported the press service of the Government of the Republic.
Meanwhile, residents of the capital of Adjara Batumi protest against the dire social situation, hanging out old shoes on the wires, VZGLIAD reported with a reference to "Kweli siahle" ("All News").
"Most of Batumi residents have no New Year's mood, as evidenced by this fact", said the head of Batumi Public Movement "Serve Georgia" Murman Dumbadze. "It was such a grotesque "revolt of shoes", he added.
Note that the shoes are still hanging on wires in some parts of Batumi.
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili often speaks about the successes in building in renovated Batumi, meanwhile social situation of most of city residents has not improved.
