Ski season in Gudauri opened
Ski season opened aat the winter resort of Gudauri in eastern Georgia, "Georgia News" reported citing the press service of Tbilisi City Hall.
"The snow came to Gudauri and thus opened the ski season, and the resort is waiting for both Georgian and foreign tourists. In Gudauri there was updated funicular railway, increased its cross-country ability, cleared ski runs. A special track was arranged for beginners", said in a statement.
Note that in May 2011, the territory of Gudauri acquired the status of legal entity of public law. Since then, Gudauri is controlled by Tbilisi City Hall.
In the region there has been upgraded infrastructure, installed new systems of electricity, natural gas, water and sanitation. Also created a new tourist service center and "first aid" office.
In February, in Gudauri there will be completed the assembly of the longest ski lift in the Caucasus of gondola type. Its length will be 2.450 thousand meters, each gondola is designed for 10 people.
