Four airports for tourists will be built in the North Caucasus
According to the forecasts of the JSC "Resorts of the North Caucasus", the flow of tourists to the resorts of the Caucasus will be significantly increased in the next few years - to 40 thousand people per day, which will require modernization of transport and logistics system, in particular the construction of four new airports and reconstruction of the six operating airports in the region.
The new airports will be built in the village Zelenchukskaya (Karachaevo-Cherkessia), Mamison (North Ossetia) and Matlase (Dagestan). Another airport may be built in the Dagestani city of Derbent: it will take the tourists coming for the rest at the shore of the Caspian Sea, Yuga.ru reported.
In addition, according to the experts of the companies, airports in Krasnodar (Krasnodar Territory), Maikop (Adygea), Makhachkala (Dagestan), Mineral Waters (Stavropol Territory), Nalchik (Kabardino-Balkaria) and Vladikavkaz (North Ossetia) need upgrade.
"This will create in the North Caucasus a multi-functional airfield complexes, capable to carry out passenger and cargo air traffic and to service the majority of aircraft types of domestic and foreign production", said in the press-service of "Resorts of the North Caucasus".
