Vice-Speaker: Baku and Tbilisi are strategic partners and friends
Georgia and Azerbaijan are connected not only by partners, but also by friendly relations, Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva said at a meeting with the Georgian delegation headed by vice-speaker of Georgian parliament Freedon Todua, Day.Az reported.
The head of state has always attached great importance to relations with Georgia, she noted. "It should be noted, however, what a great importance the Georgian leadership pays to its relations with Azerbaijan. This is a good example for us", she said.
Pashayeva stressed that relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are not just a neighbourly and friendly - it's a relationship of strategic alliances at the highest level. "We, the parliamentarians, we should contribute to further strengthening the ties between the two countries".
"We've always been together. I've always said that there's no problems between the Azerbaijani and Georgian peoples. There were only minor issues that both peoples have settled in a fairly calm manner. We are not only strategic partners, we are close friends at the same time. We have always loved and we will love the people of Azerbaijan", Vice Speaker of Georgian Parliament Freedon Todua said in his turn.
